Vale of Glamorgan to mark Armistice Day
10 November 2016
Civic bodies across the Vale will be holding ceremonies to mark Armistice Day 2016.
The Vale of Glamorgan Council is continuing its support for the Royal British Legion by holding a wreath-laying ceremony to commemorate Armistice Day on Friday 11 November. A short service, along with a two-minute silence, will take place on the Civic Office Forecourt, Barry, in front of the Merchant Seamen Memorial, beginning at 10.45am.
The Mayor, together with political leaders and representatives of local organisations will lay wreaths to commemorate the fallen. The ceremony is open to all and members of the public are encouraged to attend and pay their respects. The start and end of the silence will be marked by the playing of the Last Post and Reveille.
