Vale of Glamorgan Council consults on latest changes to Local Development Plan
16 September 2016
The Vale of Glamorgan Council has begun consultation on the latest changes to its draft Local Development Plan, made following the recent public examination of the previous draft.
The Council is required to produce a Local Development Plan which sets out the local authority’s vision, objectives, strategy and policies for managing development in the Vale of Glamorgan. The plan covers the years 2011 to 2026.
At the ‘Examination in Public’ undertaken earlier this year an independent planning inspector, appointed by the Welsh Government, reviewed the Council’s plan to ensure it was sound and met with the requirements of relevant legislation.
As a result of this examination and the questions raised by the inspector, a number of changes have been made. These are known as ‘Matters Arising Changes’ and range from factual updates, to changes to wording, and new allocations for development.
The Council will be formally consulting on the changes between 16September and 28October 2016 and would welcome comments from any interested parties. The Matters Arising Changes Schedule, along with further information about this and the next stages of the LDP, can be viewed at the Council’s main offices, at all libraries in the Vale, and online.
