A barbeque was on offer to all and mascots from popular children’s films were around all day to keep people entertained.

Vale of Glamorgan Council Cabinet Member for Housing and Building Services, Andrew Parker said:

“It’s great to hear that the new tenants marked one year in their new homes and this celebration is a great example of how successful housing developments across the Vale of Glamorgan can be.”

Jayne Howells who is an Estate Ambassador and tenant at Cwrt Col-Huw said:

“Since moving here we’re all enjoying being part of a community, we feel less isolated as we support each other. We would like to thank Newydd for the grant that has allowed us to put on this celebration as well as providing us with beautiful planters having worked with young people in Rhydyfelin near Pontypridd to build them.

“We would also like to thank Bethel Chapel who provided us with tables, in return any leftover food from the event will be donated to the food bank in the area.”
