The evening will provide opportunities to get advice, tips and support from the team, learn more about community funding available and network with others involved with local activities in the rural Vale.  CRC’s toolkit is full of useful tips, advice and worksheets to help you engage with your community.  Each group attending will be able to receive a free toolkit.   Everyone is welcome to come along and find out more about how to engage with your community.

Councillor Lis Burnett, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member, Regeneration and Education. hopes to see as many people as possible at the event and commented:

“The community mapping pilot project has brought people together to champion and drive forward new activities and access funding opportunities.  I would like to encourage community and voluntary groups to have a go with community mapping to identify their local priorities and showcase the activities in their area.”

CRC have been busy over the last 12 months working with community groups in St Athan, Wenvoe, Rhoose and Ystradowen on the Community Mapping Pilot project.  Through a series of community engagement activities and community surveys, the groups have been able to find out what their resident’s priorities are arrange local events and activities and apply for funding.
