Barry Library 10th Anniversary

Celebrate with the library at King Square on 13th and 14th January.


Barry Library will hold two days of celebration open to all library members and the general public that will take place on Friday 13 January and Saturday 14 January. The events will feature a display of photographs of old Barry and all are invited to share their stories of growing up and living in Barry, a Photographic Challenge, sign-up sessions for adults to a new Colouring Club, a Reading Group and a Crochet Club, storytellers, craft events, a family history surgery, and a performance from Barry Male Voice Choir.

Heritage Day on Friday 13th January 2017 (10am - 5pm)

  • Exhibition of old photos of Barry including King Square and Holton Road
  • Reminiscence day - come and tell us your stories of Barry
  • Family History Drop-In Surgery 1pm - 3pm
  • Photographic Challenge 10am - 1pm
  • Drop-in sessions - ebooks
  • Sign-Up sessions for new Colouring Club for adults 2pm - 3:30pm
  • Sign-Up session for Crochet Club - all day
  • Sign-Up session for new Reading Group - all day
  • Display of 'Most Borrowed Books'
  • VLC Open House 12pm - 3pm

Barry Library are also holding an Open Afternoon on Friday 13th between 12pm and 3pm on the first floor.

  • Crafts, including badge making 11am - 12pm
  • Performance by Barry Male Choir 11:30am
  • Chatterbooks - sign up session for new older group - drop in session in V-pod on King Square
