Age Friendly event shares news on how to make positive community changes
11 July 2017
A crowd of people gathered at Barry Memo Arts Centre to hear how they could make where they live or work more age-friendly.
On Wednesday 28 June, a free ‘Creating age-friendly communities’ event was organised by Ageing Well in Wales, who work to unite people and communities with public, private and voluntary sectors.
The event was open to anyone across the Vale who is interested in helping make where they live or work a more supportive environment for people of all ages.
The programme included a Working with communities talk with John Fanshaw from the Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern and a Learn, Laugh and Live: Community leaning in action session.
The day ended with groups sharing ideas and plans on how they can make a positive change to their working and living environment.
Gareth Rees, Network Co-ordinator for Ageing Well in Wales, said: “The smaller group of people resulted in a more detailed conversation I feel, and a greater opportunity to network with more attendees which is always great.
