As part of Safeguarding Week the National Independent Safeguarding Board and the Welsh Government will host a free of charge conference, 'Safeguarding in Sport: Taking Responsibility – Taking Action', to launch Safeguarding Week on Monday 13 November.

Sport benefits individual’s and communities’ health and well-being, but it also has safeguarding challenges. This conference is about how we can make sport safeguarding-aware for children and adults.

The conference speakers include a variety of inspirational speakers. The Minister for Social Services and Public Health will open the event. Members of the National Independent Safeguarding Board will share the chairing, interviewing and summing up.

Regional Safeguarding Boards, sports’ governing bodies, parents, teachers, school governors, the police and sports coaches are all welcome to attend.
