Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) calls on community groups across the Vale
Community groups in the Gibbonsdown area with an interest in health and wellbeing are being urged to speak up
The GVS team, based in Skomer Road, are asking representatives from these community groups to come forward and discuss how to improve the health and wellbeing of the area, which will also give them a chance to exchange information on local services.
GVS is an independent charity and has many volunteers and community organisations active across the county. They aim to improve the quality of life of people and communities by supporting volunteers, volunteering opportunities and voluntary groups.
The team recently welcomed five new members. At the Summer Board Meeting it was agreed that Barry Athletic Tennis Club, Mulligan Community CIC, Oshi’s World, Promo-Cymru and Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) be accepted into membership.
"We are pleased to see our membership grow from strength to strength. These new members will be able to take advantage of a range of services we provide for members including funding information, development services and access to a range of practical services.” - Clive Curtis, GVS Operational Manager.
