Biomass Plant Updates

Residents may be aware that Natural Resources Wales have recently granted the Permit application to operate the Biomass Plant on David Davies Road

The Council have been made aware that JMEL Enviro Fuels Ltd , based on David Davies Road, Barry have started to accept wood chip.  JMEL have been granted an Environmental Permit by the regulator Natural Resources Wales (NRW) and the site has planning permission for this activity.

The Council have been advised that from Wednesday 14 February 2018, a pre-commissioning phase will commence, involving steam cleaning of the boiler and associated pipework over the course of a few weeks. 

 

Steam and noise may be witnessed emanating from the site during this time, but it will not be representative of the site when fully commissioned.

 

In order to try and ensure that any disruption to neighbouring residents during this pre-commissioning phase is kept to a minimum, the works shall only be carried out within the hours 9:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday.
