Course Description

Bags and Boxes for Gifts and Wedding Favours

The first session will be based on bags, showing how to make a gift bag from scratch and finish/decorate it in several different ways.Simple ‘tied’ packages will also be covered and origami based techniques for presenting gifts and favours.


The second session will be based on boxes, again using elements of origami, templates and making your own boxes from scratch using card and some of our luxury papers.


Are there any additional costs?

No – all the materials (boxes, wrapping paper, tissue, cellophane, ribbon, adhesives)  will be provided and have been included in the cost of the course.

What does the learner need to bring to the course? A bottle (wine, olive oil, bubble bath) and a small item of clothing e.g. scarf, t-shirt, they would like to give as a gift and can wrap during the course.


Meet the Tutor - Alison Westwood

Alison Westwood began her working life as a physiotherapist, but after suffering meningitis in 2003, was unable to return to her career and ‘Eclipse Gift Wrapping’ was born.


Alison demonstrates regularly for the Ideal Home Show at Christmas in London and has worked for a number of big brands, teaching and demonstrating gift wrapping skills. She also designs gift wraps, having designed a bottle wrap for Bailey’s as well as providing high quality gift wrapping services for corporate organisations.


In Wales, Alison has worked with organisations such as Admiral, St. David’s 2, Capital Radio and the Morgan Quarter and has delivered many workshops and teaching sessions throughout the UK.
