Drawing and Watercolours
This course offers you an opportunity to create paintings and drawings using a wide range of techniques and styles. Each week we will look at a different aspect of art practice, ranging from drawing with pastel, charcoal or pencil to several watercolour techniques.
Your tutor Vaughan, will give a thorough demonstration each week allowing you to understand the basic principles of the project. This is backed up with regular coaching during the session.
This is a structured course that enables you to develop a personal style and to enjoy the stimulus of creative media.
Subject matter is very diverse, looking in particular at landscape, portraiture, animals and still life.
Are there any additional costs? Your tutor will collect £1.50 at the start of the course to cover photograph development/photocopies etc.
Please bring along your watercolour/sketching equipment – paper, paints, brushes, pencil etc
Meet the Artist - Vaughan Cummins
With over 15 years experience in the adult education field, Vaughan combines a passion for teaching with a busy schedule of personal painting, exhibitions and demonstrations for several art societies. He has a particular fondness for landscape work using acrylic paint applied with a palette knife and drawing as well as a deep interest in art history. Vaughan trained at Aberystwyth University, gaining an MA in fine art in 1998.
