Felt Making Flowers
Learn the techniques to make flowers out of merino wool fibres. Handmade felt flowers can be chunky and funky for everyday wear, or delicate and elegant to enhance a wedding outfit. Each flower is unique. You could even make a bouquet for your home. You can also embellish your flower with embroidery and beads.
All materials will be provided and have been included in the cost of this course to create one flower. If you want to make more, either at the workshop or afterwards at home, further materials can be purchased on the day.
Please bring along a pair of rubber gloves, a carrier bag and an old towel to felt onto. And wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet! If you want to match an outfit or make a courage for a coat, do bring along the clothes so you can design colours, shape and size of the flower.
Meet the Tutor - Kate Montefiore
Art school trained, Kate Montefiore initially specialised in theatre design, but soon realised her talent was in textiles and jewellery. Making felt flowers can bring these two art forms together, as the flowers become a piece of jewellery when worn.
Kate will share her love of colours and creativity and has a great ability to support you to design and make something unique to you.
