Impressions from our Twin Towns

1st - 26th October 2008
This year marks twinning anniversaries with Fecamp (50 years),
Rheinfelden (40 years) and Mouscron (25 years) and to
commemorate this Art Central is hosting a
touring exhibition of 100 works of art from the twin
towns.
The exhibition opened in Fecamp at their Festival of the Sea in
June before moving on to Mouscron during July and August.
In September it will be in Rheinfelden as part of the
town’s street stall festival, Troitterfest. The exhibition will
then move to Art Central in the Town Hall, Barry, where it will be
on display until the Town Twinning Weekend at the end of
October.
A 'twin towns' souvenir booklet has been produced in conjunction
with the exhibition and includes views of all the twin towns.
Three pictures by members of the Vale of Glamorgan Artists group
were selected from 25 postcard-sized pictures of the area to
feature in the souvenir booklet. The winning pictures are
those displayed on this page and are as follows:

'The Carousel Comes to Barry' (Eve Hart, top right), 'The Old
Harbour' (Peter Moulding, above) and 'A Trip to Barry Island' (Alan
Salisbury, right).
Eve, who enjoys working on small-scale paintings of familiar
local scenes, produced her top entry after a visit to the Island
with her grandchildren.
The exhibition will be open 11am to 4pm daily from October 1st
to october 26th.
