Education and Interpretation
A vital role of the Heritage Coast staff is to educate coastal
visitors and school groups as well as other interested parties
about the need to conserve this beautiful stretch of
coastline.
At Dunraven, the Heritage Coast
Centre is not only the Ranger service base, but also an
Information Centre. Here, a wide range of useful literature about
the coast can be found. The centre is occasionally used for
temporary exhibitions.
The Seawatch Centre at Summerhouse Point was
set up as an educational resource with a maritime theme.
Many schools request the staff's specialist
knowledge of the marine environment and coastal conservation.
The importance of safety is always emphasised
on such visits.
