Eisteddfod announces details of savings on season tickets

With only 200 days to go before the Vale of Glamorgan National Eisteddfod begins at the old airfield, Llandow, the Eisteddfod has announced details of its week-long tickets for visitors to this year’s festival in the Vale.

Copyright Eisteddfod GenedlaetholEisteddfod Chief Executive, Elfed Roberts, says, “Like every other festival and large-scale event, we are very dependent on the support of our visitors, and we want to make it easier for our regular visitors to support us by offering special deals to encourage people to spend more time on the Maes.

“The week-long ticket isn’t a new initiative, but after speaking to a large number of Eisteddfodwyr last year in Wrexham and since then, it became obvious that people weren’t aware of the substantial savings for those wishing to visit the Maes most days.

“In 200 days' time, we very much hope that people will flock to Llandow from all corners of Wales and beyond to enjoy the Eisteddfod. There’ll be hundreds of activities taking place all over the Maes, and we want to make sure that as many people as possible spend as much time as they can on the Maes, enjoying the best Wales has to offer.

“The week-long ticket offers a real saving for anyone attending the Eisteddfod throughout the week. An adult will save 34% on the price of eight daily tickets – a real saving of £46 – which will make a real difference for people considering whether to come to the Maes every day.

“This is only one of the offers available this year, and we’ll be announcing details of a brand new offer at the beginning of February when we celebrate six months to go before the start of the Vale of Glamorgan National Eisteddfod.

“I hope that people will join us in the Vale, and for the caravanners amongst you, the registration forms for the official caravan site are available online and are in the process of being sent out to everyone on our database.  The Vale of Glamorgan is one of the most beautiful parts of Wales, and there’ll be a warm welcome awaiting you in Llandow and the rest of the county at the beginning of August.”

Week-long Eisteddfod tickets go on sale on the Eisteddfod website on Saturday 4 February. The ticket offers a saving of 34% for an adult, costing £90 rather than £136 for eight individual daily tickets.
