Keeping fitFitness Classes

 

We offer a range of fitness classes in our Leisure Centres, suitable for all ages and sizes, from 'teen circuits' through to our 'young at heart' class. Classes may change at short notice and we recommend that you call the individual Leisure Centres in advance to check times.

 

*Sports hall flooring being resurfaced*

Please note that, due to work being carried out to resurface the sports hall flooring, there won't be any 'dry' fitness classes at Barry Leisure Centre between Monday, 15 December and Sunday, 4 January 2009. The only fitness classes that will be held during this time will be the pool-based ones - aqua natal and aqua aerobics. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Absolute Toning

Aqua Aerobics

High energy fun workout, excellent for conditioning and toning all muscles. This class is ideal for people with joint problems.

 

Aqua Natal

A low impact water-based workout for pregnant women, using muscular strength, endurance and relaxation exercises. Please consult your midwife before attending a class.

A muscular strengthening and endurance workout for both the upper and lower body. Guaranteed to make you sweat! 

 

Box Fit

A dynamic workout for all-round fitness and body toning.

 

Boxercise

A great class to tone the upper body. Let our professional instructors put you through your paces.

 

Cardio Tone

A low impact, high energy class to work your heart while toning your muscles.

 

Circuit Training

Burn off plenty of calories in this dynamic cardiovascular workout for all-round fitness and body toning.

 

Kids Fit

Designed for children aged five to seven years-old. A really fun class which will also improve agility, strength, balance and social skills.

 

Pilates stretchMulti Fit

A total body workout for all levels. Split into four sections - step, cardio combat, free weights and aerobics. This class is guaranteed to burn fat, tone, build strength and improve cardiovascular fitness.

 

Nice 'n' Easy

A gentle exercise class that will leave you feeling refreshed and energised. ideal for over 50s but also great exercise for all ages.

 

Pilates

A workout for mind and body. A core stability class which combines strength and mobility exercises to improve flexibility and posture, using slow flowing movements.

 

Sivananda Yoga

Yoga classes incorporating breathing, relaxation and meditation techniques for total health and well being. Suitable for all ages and standards.

 

Step Aerobics

Exciting choreography, muscle toning and cardiovascular work are all important in this fitness class. keep up!

 

A potentially painful stretchStep 'n' Tone

A fun class designed to tone muscles across the whole of your body.

 

Teen Circuits

An all-round fitness training session for 12 to 16 year-olds.

 

Tone and Stretch

Increase your flexibilty and relax your tired muscles with this enjoyable class.

 

Yoga

These sessions make you healthy while relieving stress by incorporating postures, breathing techniques and relaxation exercises.

 

Young at Heart

A gentle low impact fun aerobics class for the over 60s. Also suitable for anyone wishing to get back into fitness following illness etc.
