With just one week to go until the London 2012 Olympic Torch
Relay enters Wales, children from Barry Island Primary School are
getting to ready to welcome the flame to the coastal resort on

Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson was the guest of honour as an
Olympic competition for primary schools in Penarth kicked off with
a Paralympic sports day at Evenlode Primary School.

Fifteen-year-old schoolgirl Suzie Collins from Dinas Powys will
be the youngest torchbearer to run with the Olympic flame when the
London 2012 Torch Relay comes through the Vale of Glamorgan on the
morning of Saturday 26 May.

2012
Following the London 2012 Olympic Torch relay on Saturday 26
May, two free family events in Barry and Barry Island will keep the
Olympic spirit in full flow for the rest of the day.
Volunteers given kick-start into sports

Two volunteers from the Gibbonsdown area of Barry have been
given a kick-start into sports coaching thanks to a special
project, and are now leading free sports sessions for children in
the local community.
