Play Aloud
What is it?
This project is part of a three-year Big Lottery-funded
partnership project between Cardiff Council and the Vale of
Glamorgan Council. The Play Aloud team, consisting of one Play
Development Worker and five Play Workers, will provide play
opportunities for children and young people aged 5 to 14 years on
an open access basis, in local communities across the Vale of
Glamorgan. The project will encourage and enable local
residents, working alongside qualified play workers in identified
areas, to provide play opportunities for local children. The
play project will continue to be supported through active local
community engagement, leaving a lasting legacy of sustainable play
provision.
Children and young people will have access to a wide range of
opportunites and activities. All children must be registered
on site (proof of date of birth may be required). The play
sessions will be run on an 'Open Access' basis which means children can
come and go as they please; they can only be supervised whilst on
site and cannot be confined to the play provision. The
sessions are completely
FREE.
Please see our Play Aloud
leaflet for more information, photographic consent form
and registration
form.

Important Information
Children joining in the fun need to wear the appropriate
clothing as it is normal for children and young people
participating to get dirty or wet. Children and young people
may experience minor cuts, bruises and bumps when
playing. Children and young people attending may need suntan
lotion and drinks, which should be clearly labelled with their name
and date of birth.
