Opportunities

Disability Sport Wales have many options for coaches to join their work force in a variety of sports with any of the different impairment groups. The courses fall in to one of the 3 categories:

(1) Disability inclusion training

The philosophy of the workshops are to provide all participants with tailored content that is relevant to their role (whether as a volunteer or employed) and will enhance the opportunities and level of service available to disabled people throughout the UK.  FDSW are the only approved deliverers in Wales for these workshops.

Those available in Wales are:

UK Disability Inclusion Training: Coaching and Volunteers [UK DIT (C&V)]

UK Disability Inclusion Training: Natonal Governing Bodies [UK DIT (NGB)]

UK Disability Inclusion Training: Sport Development Officers [UK DIT (SDO)]

UK Disability Inclusion Training: Leisure Service Personnel [UK DIT (LSP)]

(2) Sports specific courses

Courses run by the National Governing Bodies for sport providing a specific level of training for each sport. These courses are not necessarily disability specific although some governing bodies may have a disability module.
