First Steps: How to Use a Computer

• If you are nervous or unsure when using a computer First Steps can help you. It will introduce you to the main features of a PC. It can be used as a pre-cursor for ECDL, Clait and other electronic courses therefore providing a true level of educational progression.
• The courseware takes a "nothing for granted" approach to introducing new learners into the world of IT. Initial navigation through the course is achieved by using the 1, 2 and 3 keys alone.
• First Steps now includes Arabic, Bengali, Polish, Somali and Urdu text modules, which can be read whilst listening to the English speech.
• At the end of each section there are multi choice questionnaires with revolving questions and answers to ensure that Learners have understood the previous content. Once a pass mark has been achieved Learners are able to print out their own certificates of achievements.
• You can work through the courseware by yourself then after the first session as each section heading changes colour for the learner upon completion, navigation is simplicity itself.
