Central Park
Central Park is conveniently located in the centre of
the town, right next door to the Town Hall and Barry
Central Library and a stone's throw way from a selection
of cafes and shops. It is very popular with office
workers at lunchtime and with families with young children using
the play area.
The Park was refurbished in 2005 as part of the major
redevelopment of the town hall and the library in consultation with
local people.
In the addition to the children's play area there is a
basketball court and facilities for playing petanque piste - a
game also known as French bowls which can be played
by people of all ages and ability. It is one of
Europe's most popular outdoor games.
