Facilities
Cosmeston Lakes provides ample parking, with reserved places
for disabled visitors.

The Visitor Centre, which opened in 1990, has
an information and reception area with a small, well stocked, gift
shop. There are toilets with disabled and nappy changing
facilities.
Within the Visitor Centre, and with wonderful
views over the lake, is the café, where a wide selection of both
hot and cold food is served.
Benches are situated around the lakes and
through Cogan wood in the most picturesque areas.

The east lake can be hired for water
sports by clubs and organisations that are affiliated with the Vale
of Glamorgan Council. Sports include sailing, wind surfing,
canoeing, model boating and sub aqua. Please open this

Within the Country Park is a nature trail and
orienteering routes. Information sheets can be obtained from the
Visitor Centre.
For the keen bird watchers a bird hide can be
found overlooking the quieter western lake. Access is via steps
leading from the main path just north of the bridge.
There is an adventure play area for our
younger
visitors, picnic tables and BBQ ranges that
can be hired and are within easy walking distance of the car
park.

Horse riding is permitted along the mile road bridle way,
however, if you wish to ride on the main paths round the East and
West lakes you will have to purchase a permit available from the
visitor centre. Please open the following documents to view

riding conditions of use and a map showing permitted
areas to ride.

The visitor centre opens; 10am-6pm April to September and
10am-5pm October to March.
The cafe opens 8.30am-8pm April to September and 8.30am-5pm
October to March
