The Victoria Parkies Easter Egg Quiz.
Date: Good Friday 29 March 2013
Venue: The Park Office, Victoria Park, Cadoxton, Barry
Time: 10am to 1pm
Come along to our fun quiz for families and kids. Find some
clues, answer some easy and some (a bit) harder questions, and win
an Easter Egg. As usual there will be plenty of prizes, fun
and games for all ages.

Play Aloud! At Victoria Park this
Easter
Date: Tuesday 2 April-Friday 5 April 2013
Venue: Victoria Park, Cadoxton, Barry
Time: 11am-1pm
Admission: Free - An adult must attend
and register their children for these events.
For the second week of the Easter holidays,
the Play Aloud team will be running free, open access play sessions
at Victoria Park. Children aged 5-14 years are free to drop in and
out at their leisure. We will have a range of play activities
including arts and crafts, outdoor play, and cooking (facilities
allowing).

The Fifth Annual Victoria Park Fun Dog
Show

Date: Sunday 5 May 2013
Venue: Victoria Park, Cadoxton, Barry
Time: 1pm-5pm
Admission: Free to watch £2 per class
entry, £1 fastest dog, £1 agility course.
Join us for the best fun dog show in the Vale.
Fun classes for all dogs, and their owners. Bro Radio will be
broadcasting direct from the show. Trade stands, and our doggy
department stores. Activities and fun, musical mats.
Refreshments include superb teas and homemade cakes. Raffles and
competitions, with prizes galore. Its just a fabulous doggy
day out! All in aid of the Dogs Trust, Guide Dogs for the Blind and
Friends of Cardiff Dog Pound.
P.D.S.A. Pets Check Road Show
Date: Tuesday 14 May 2013
Venue: Victoria Park, Cadoxton, Barry
Time: 10am-4pm
Visit the Pets Check vehicle and talk to an
experienced PDSA vetinary nurse about all aspects of your pets care
and welfare. Health checks cover – Body condition score and weight,
teeth and gums, eyes and ears, coat condition and general
fitness.
Art4U Drum and Percussion Workshop
Date: Saturday 25 May 2013
Venue: Victoria Park, Cadoxton, Barry
Time: 11.00am-1pm
Admission: Free

Join Glyn Pooley and friends from Art4U for a
bit of a bongo fest in our restored bandstand. Have a go at drum
and percussion with some really talented players who will coach you
in a fun way. If you have your own drum or percussion instrument

“The Big Event” Jamboree and Family Fun Day – with
Mount Pleasant Baptist Church
Date: Saturday 6 July 2013

Time: Starts 12 noon
Admission: Free
Come and join in the fun on the 5th
annual Family Fun Day put on for all by our friends from Mount
Pleasant Baptist Church.
Bouncy Castles, face painting, loads of games
and stalls. Quizzes and brain teasers. Fun races for the kids on
the field, clowns and jugglers, and a performance from some very
special guests! Teas, coffees, ices, and all the usual
refreshments. It’s a fun day for all.
CADSTOCK 2013 – Rock and Blues in the
Park

Date: Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July
2013

Time: Starts 1pm both days

Free Community Music Festival
at Victoria Park. The best local bands, playing the best
live music, supported by the best local businesses, and hosted by
the Vale of Glamorgan Parks Department. The line up already
includes Freeway, The Underdogs, Outback, The Hindenbergs,
Circle of Fire, Green Haze, Back to November, Special guests
Eric Unseen, King Paul and the Zeronoughts, and a
famous guest!

The Room in the Park

Barry at War - Pictorial History

1pm-2pm Weekends)
Admission: Free
Friends of Barry History return to the park with another
exhibition. Barry at War is a selection of very evocative,
interesting pictures and memoirs from the Second World War.

Watercolour Classes- 2013 - Ended 9th
March
Watercolour Classes with Fine Artist Catherine Herve-Petts.
Unfortunately Catherine has decided to stop running the classes
at the present time. Hopefully they will return in the Autumn -
watch this space.
The ‘Room in the Park’ is an exhibition space and venue for
community use. It is open nearly every day of the year from 10am –
4pm.
Currently the venue is being used activities such as book
clubs, art classes and exhibitions, but it can be booked
by anyone wishing to hold a non-profit event.

Road: M4 to Junction 33, A4232 to Culverhouse
Cross, A4050 to Barry.
A4231 to Barry Dock. Continue straight through the roundabout,
turn right in the bottom of the dip onto Coldbrook Road
East, continue to left hand fork up Church Road
to the top of the hill then turn left. (Look for the brown
tourist signs).
Immediately turn left again and the
main gate to the park will be on your right about 150m along Sea
View Terrace.
Bus: Nearest stop The Royal, Barry Rd,
100m from park. Contact Traveline Wales on 0871 200 22 33 for
local routes.
Rail: Nearest station is Cadoxton, 150m from
park.
