Just five miles from Cardiff and Barry, the tiny island of Flat Holm is a different world with a wealth of history and wildlife. You will be amazed at how much there is to discover.

All visits are dependent on weather and may be cancelled due to strong winds, sometimes at short notice.

 

Age restrictions

We regret that the boat trip is unsuitable for toddlers under the age of four.

 

Location

Road: Exit junction 33 of the M4, onto the A4232  Ely-Grangetown Link Road. Leave A4232 at Ferry Road Interchange at 1st exit. At traffic lights turn right.

 

At the roundabout turn left. Go forward at next roundabout. Turn right at the Ikea roundabout. Jim Driscoll Way is the 4th road on the right.  Look out for the white on brown signs to Flat Holm Project.

 

From Cardiff City Centre - Follow white on brown signs from Penarth Road. Turn onto Corporation Road. At next rounadbout turn right. Jim Driscoll way is 5th road on the left.

 

Bus: Contact Travel Line Wales 0871 200 22 33 for local routes. 10 minutes walk to the Dock.

Rail: Nearest station Grangetown/Cardiff Bay, connections via Cardiff, Tel: 08457 484950 for rail information.

 

Other information

Open: Scheduled visits run from March to October, a programme is available.

Parking: Free car parking – with limited spaces.
