The castle has been occupied as a home since the 13th Century and is a magnificent Medieval castle. It's backed by woodland and surrounded by beautiful walled gardens, borders, flowering shrubs and unusual trees. A guided tour of this wonderful property is a must.

 

Location

Road: Exit junction 33 of the M4, onto A4232 and A4050 for Barry. Follow signs for Cardiff Airport A4226 and Llantwit Major B4265. Don't take first left for Fonmon; continue under the bridge for 1 mile. Take the left for Rhoose and East Aberthaw. Continue up the hill and before works traffic lights take the left turn into Castle Road. The castle is approx ½ mile on the left.

Rail: Nearest stations Barry and Llantwit Major (6 miles). Tel 08457 484950 for rail information.

Open: 25th March to end of September.

Guided Tours: Tues/Wed afternoons 2pm, 3pm and 4pm all other trips by arrangement

Parking: Ample free parking.

Charges: Adults £5, Children under 12 FREE. Group rates by arrangement for 12+

Disabled: Toilets on the ground floor. A ramp is also available.
