Grade 1 listed Edwardian Garden. Dyffyrn Gardens features formal lawns, fountains & pools, seasonal beds, feature garden rooms enclosed by yew hedges and walls including the Pompeian, Paved court and Theatre garden.

 

Extensive Arboretum

Contains trees from all over the world including the original Acer griseum collected by Chinese Wilson, it truly is a garden for all seasons.

 

Restoration

Currently, parts of these Grade I listed gardens are under restoration, this is being funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. June 2007 saw a visit from HRH, the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles to see works in progress.

 

Location

Road: Exit junction 33 of the M4, onto the A4232 to Barry. Exit first slip road, at roundabout take the 4th exit A48 to Cowbridge. In St Nicholas follow signs to Dyffryn.

Bus: Contact Travel Line Wales 0871 200 22 33 for local routes. Dyffryn's approx 20 mins walk from the nearest bus stop.

Open: Main season (1st March - 31st October)10.00am - 6.00pm.

Low season (1st November - 28th February) 11.00am - 4.00pm

( Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays)

Please note that last entry is 1 hour before closing

Charges: Main Season (1st March-31st Oct): Adults £6, Family (2 Adults and up to 4 children) £15, Concessions (including students) £4, Children (U16) £2.50, Disabled £2.

Low Season (1st Nov-28th Feb): Adults £3, Family (2 Adults and up to 4 children) £7, Concessions (including students) £2, Children (U16) £1.

Disabled: Part of the gardens are ‘wheelchair friendly’, with a courtesy wheelchair available at the visitor centre, please call in advance to book. Disabled toilets available.

Parking: Free.
