The hit series is written by stars Ruth Jones (Nessa) and James
Corden (Smithy).
It follows the budding romance between Essex boy Gavin Shipman
(Matthew Horne) and Barry girl Stacey Shipman (Joanna
Page).
Gavin and Stacey are the perfect couple however the same cannot
be said for their best friends Nessa and Smithy who dislike each
other from the start but then end up having a baby together.
Filmed mainly in and around Barry the series is generating a
huge amount of interest in the area with calls to the tourism
department quoting Nessa's popular catchphrase of 'What's
occurring?'
