Barry TouristBarry Tourist Railway Railway

One of Barry's all-weather attractions for families, school groups and rail enthusiasts. Trains run on scheduled dates during the summer months and special events are held at Easter and Christmas. The route operates between Barry Island and The Waterfront at Barry.

Trains

The tourist railway operates both diesel and steam trains, including a Mk 101 DMU called Iris II, a Class 73 and Mk 2F Carriages. Typically, normal running days see the DMU Iris II in action, a diesel train.

Station Cafe

A new station cafe at Barry Island will be open from Easter. Normal opening hours will be Monday to Friday, 10am - 4pm, plus Saturdays and Sundays when trains are running. From Easter it will be possible to purchase your tickets for normal running days from the station cafe as well as on board the train.
