Stepping stones

Idyllically situated beside Ewenny River, the castle was built to guard a strategic fording point. You can cross the river via lovely stepping stones at low tide, but take care as the tides change rapidly and you could be left on the wrong side! There's a ruined stone keep still standing tall amongst the riverbank foliage.

Road: Past Ewenny on the B4524 route to the Heritage Coast opposite the Pelican pub. Follow signs from Bridgend to Ewenny/Ogmore by Sea.
