Local Nature Reserves
Wenvoe Orchid Field
ST 119 735
The Orchid Field in Wenvoe has gained its name from the
beautiful display of several thousand common spotted orchids that
flower each year in June on the site. This community nature reserve
is managed by Wenvoe Wildlife Group and has over 300 species of
flowers, grasses, insects and birds. If you visit at intervals from
late spring to early autumn it is possible to see seven different
orchid species.
The field is at the northern end of Wenvoe and can be accessed
by walking from Walston Road. Web: www.wenvoe.org/orchid
