If you are tracing your ancestors in the Vale, the Glamorgan Record Office holds records that may help your research.

Records

In the copy search room you will find:

• General Register Office index for births, deaths and marriages 1837-1997.

• Census returns for Glamorgan 1841-1901

• Parish registers for all the ancient parishes in Glamorgan.
• Reference books on family history.

In the document search room:

• Electoral registers for Glamorgan from 1840 to the present day.
• School log books and admission registers from mid 19th Century.
• Estate and Family records, e.g. rentals, marriage settlements, title deeds & diaries.
