Who is part of the armed force community?
The armed forces community refers to all those
who are serving or have served in the Army, Navy, Royal Air Force
and Merchant Navy (during conflict). The community also includes
immediate family members and dependents of those who have
served.
How can I find the help I need?
There are a wide range of services
specifically designed for the armed forces community available from
local government, Ministry of Defence and third sector
organisations. It can often be confusing when trying to find the
best organisations to help.
To make this easier use our
Armed Forces Service Library to find the
organisations in the Vale of Glamorgan area who will be able to
assist. Searching is quick and easy.
Whenever you request a service, please make us
aware that you are a member of the armed forces community. There
are often special rules that apply to members of the community in
relation to local government services, and we want to ensure
that you benefit from these.
Armed Forces Community Covenant Grant
Scheme
The aim of the Community Covenant Grant Scheme is to financially
support projects, at the local level, which strengthen the ties or
the mutual understanding between members of the Armed Forces
Community and the wider community in which they live.
