Building Control Application Forms
There are two options through the Council when you choose to
carry out work to which the Building Regulations apply.
Full Plans Option
This is the most widely known and used option, where scaled
plans clearly indicating the proposed constructional details and
where necessary supporting structural calculations, have to be

Building Notice Submission
This method is recommended for minor works in residential
properties only. This form cannot be used where works have already
commenced or where the building is subject to the Regulatory Reform
(Fire Safety) Order 2005. Only a brief description of the works are
required to be submitted with this type of application. As there
are no requirements to provide detailed plans, the builder must
liaise closely with the Building Control Officer.
