Street lighting

Although the Vale of Glamorgan Council is not legally required to provide street lighting under the Highways Act 1980, we will try to accommodate new requests. Requests are generally investigated through a site visit and answered within 10 working days.

If a street light is damaged and in a dangerous condition, with wires exposed or lanterns hanging off, the Council will attend within 24 hours.

Please note that this form should only be used to report non emergencies. If you feel that the incident is dangerous, please telephone Contact OneVale on 01446 70011 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
