Parking Permits
There are a number of streets in the central
areas of Barry and Penarth, which have in operation a system for
residential parking. Parking permits can be issued to the
following people:
- Residents who have lawful use of a vehicle
- Residents receiving continual care
- Motor traders who meet the residential criteria
- Temporary visitors who will be residing at the property
Permits are free to those who qualify but only
one permit can be issued to each driver. A permit is not
transferable. Should there be any change of circumstances, eg.
change of house holder/change of vehicle, the permit must be
returned and a new permit obtained, providing evidence as outlined
below.
To be issued with a permit whether it
be the first or renewal of an existing permit, please be advised
that you will need to visit our Docks Offices (Subway Road, Barry)
and produce copies of the following documents:
- Proof of Residency i.e. Utility bill, Council tax till,
bank statement etc.
- Proof of Ownership/Use of Vehicle i.e. Vehicle
registration document (V5) or Valid Insurance
certificate
If your vehicle is a company car, a letter from your employer
must be provided, stating the registration number and that you have
full use of the vehicle.
