Next steps in the high brown fritilary project
The three-year project has now ended,
although some more funding secured from the Vale of
Glamorgan Council, the Countryside Council for Wales and Butterfly
Conservation has enabled a fencing project which has allowed
grazing to be introduced across an area of 16ha, reducing future
management tasks. The next phases of the project are a feasibility
study in March/April 2007 on the management of new sites within
10kms of the Alun Valley along with continuing control of the
scrub.
