Presentations promoting biodiversity in the Vale

Thanks to a grant from the Vale Centre for Voluntary Services the LBAP Steering Group has been able to buy a laptop and computer to give presentations to community groups and schools on Biodiversity in the Vale of Glamorgan. The grant for the equipment was made to the Cwmtalwg Woodlands Residents Group on the understanding that it would be available to other members of the LBAP Steering Group, and that the role of volunteers would be highlighted in the presentations. This last proviso is easy to fulfil as most activities promoting biodiversity in the Vale of Glamorgan involve volunteers in some capacity.

The presentations aim to make people more aware of all the interesting work being done to promote biodiversity in the Vale and the way in which these activities are being supported by individuals, voluntary organisations, public sector bodies and businesses. Many people of all ages are making a difference by surveying species and ecosystems and taking part in a variety of projects on bats, great crested newts, hay meadows, reed beds, and many more.

How do I arrange for a presentation?

There is so much to talk about that the presentations can be varied to suit the particular audience. Anne Bryan, of the Cwmtalwg Group in Barry, and Steve White, of the Parish Field Project are available to give talks.

If your organisation or school would like a presentation on any aspect of the work being done to safeguard and enhance the biodiversity of the Vale of Glamorgan please contact Anne at Email: a.bryan7@ntlworld.com Tel: 01446 733945, or Steve Email: lbapsteve@aol.com
