Local Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP)

The Vale of Glamorgan Local Biodiversity Action Plan recognises
the diversity of plants and animals and the places they live
(habitats), identifying them as local priorities.
It is run by the Vale’s Biodiversity Partnership, whose aim to
conserve and enhance these priorities by co-ordinating and carrying
out actions to achieve favourable conservation status.
The LBAP has recently been reviewed, changing from the
substantial paper document that was published in 2002 to a
flexible, living document. This can be used to co-ordinate
work on the ground, report on progress and inform Welsh and UK
targets.
To find out more, you can explore each of the broad habitat
types that the LBAP is structured around and their associated
priority habitats and species. Go to our section
of BARS,
a web-based system that allows all partners and external parties to
access detailed targets and actions easily.
A list of the LBAP’s broad habitats with its associated priority
species and habitats is also available
