Grant Organisations
The Vale of Glamorgan Council supports initiatives such as the
Carbon Emission Reduction Target (CERT). This scheme requires
gas and electricity utility providers to achieve carbon emissions
reductions from domestic properties. They achieve this by
subsidising energy efficiency measures such as cavity wall
insulation for householders. The situation is
continually changing and we always recommend that householders
'shop around', and in particular get information from utility
providers. Their websites will generally provide the
information you need.
For the lastest advice on the
most economic way to arrange for cavity wall and loft insulation
contact the Energy Saving Trust. Tel 0800 512 012.
Health Through Warmth
For householders with a long-standing
debilitating illness, the Vale of Glamorgan Council can offer help
via the Health Through Warmth scheme. The aim of the scheme is to
provide an adequately heated and well-insulated home. To
achieve this, our Health Through Warmth coordinator can “hand-hold”
clients through the grant application process and search for
grants where availability might not be immediately apparent, for
example from charitable organisations. And finally, if a crisis
situation is identified, provide emergency heating equipment and
help to find a more permanent solution. The Health Through
Warmth coordinator can be contacted on 01446 709847.
