Insulation Projects

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has provided
Domestic & General Insulation Ltd with a letter of introduction
to private residents while they are working within the Vale
of Glamorgan Council. The letter recommends that
residents obtain alternative quotations if they wish, and
recommends that insulation levels should be brought up to the
recommended levels if practically possible .
Carbon Emission Reduction Target
(CERT) is a scheme which sets targets for utility providers to
reduce carbon emissions by installing measures within domestic
properties. It runs until December 2012. Each utility
provider has designed schemes to suit their own requirements
so it is worth shopping around to find the best insulation
subsides offered for your home. Note that householders over
70 are considered a priority group and can qualify for free
insulation installations.
In Wales the Welsh Government's NEST scheme aimes to
improve the energy efficiency of homes from an F or G rating
to a C rating where householders are recieving particular
benefits. This is acheived by establishing the rating of the
home and the the Government funding a range of measure to
bring the energy rating up. Contact the Energy Saving
Trust to establish if you qualify for NEST. However, some level of
help, including simple advice on home energy efficiency and
information on CERT is available to all
householders by contacting the Energy Saving Trust.
