Recycling, Waste and Cleansing
*New* Great news - you can now add even more materials to
your weekly co-mingled recycling collection. In addition to paper,
glass, cans, card and plastic, you can now include:
1) Drained aerosols. Once they are empty, simply remove lids and
place both the can and the lid in your box.
2) Cartons such as Tetra Pak. Typically, items include soup
and juice cartons and
pet-food pouches.
3) Clean foil which has not been contaminated with
food/drink or chemicals.
Any mattresses included in our bulky items collections are now
also sent for recycling.
Thank you for caring enough to recycle.

Civic Amenity/Recycling Centres in the Vale

garden furniture, plastic plant pots and some old children's toys
that can't be reused can now be added.

Free bulky item collections
Contact us to arrange your household item
collection. Place your item kerbside no later than 7am. We can
collect up to five household items
on one visit but you must contact us first. Don't
forget that most items go to landfill, so where possible
pass to charity / friends / family. The one exception is
mattresses - from December 2011, they are recycled.

Garden waste collections
Your garden
waste is collected on alternate weeks to your black bags.
Our ring and request service operates from Monday 28th November
until Friday 30th March 2012. Garden waste can be placed in
one of two types of garden
waste bags and will only be collected in these; either may
be purchased from most Council offices.
