UK-wide figures suggest that up to a third of an average
householders' annual waste is made up of kitchen and garden
waste.
Why compost?
It's a great way of saving money and provides an
environmentally-friendly way of reducing your rubbish. Having your
home compost bin allows you to conveniently enrich your own soil
with your own product. However, we recommend that you still use our
kitchen waste recycling service for items such
as cooked food, fish and meat bones and plate scrapings.

Don't forget: it's best not to produce waste in the first
instance. For example, the peaches on the right should have been
eaten, or made into a jam or a pudding before rotting
and becoming spoiled.
