Green weddings
Invitations
Send out e-invitations. They're
cost-effective, creative and personal. You could also record a
video clip and include web links.
The suit/dress
Wedding outfits can cost lots, especially
as a dress is worn only once. There are countless hire
companies and websites which offer hire options. Vintage fashion is
also still all the rage, so why not search charity shops too?

Venue
Think beyond traditional wedding venues. Look
into unique botanical gardens, museums, art galleries, or historic
buildings for an eco-friendly and affordable venue.
Food and drink
Request your caterer avoids using disposable
plates, cups and napkins. Ask if they will lay on recycling
bins for empty glass bottles at your reception.
Gifts
Instead of asking people for household items
you may already have, why not ask guests for travel vouchers or, if
you're feeling generous, to donate money to a favourite
charity?
Confetti
Supply your guests with biodegradable
confetti, which is readily available now in stores. Natural
substitutes, such as flower petals collected from a local florist
too, or why not dry your own petals?
Wedding photos
Put your wedding photos on a CD or an oline
album rather than paying to have them printed.
Green wedding favour ideas
* Tuck bulbs in an attractively
textured bag and stencil a monogram on it.
* Reuse clay pots and try growing your
own flowers such as poppies.
* Design and print your own labels on
seed packets
* Hand bake and personalise decorated
wedding favour cookies (they could double up as name place settings
too).
