You need a 50:50 balance between fast and slow rotters, examples include:

 

FAST ROTTERS SLOW ROTTERS
Tea bags Twigs
Vegetable peelings Autumn leaves
Weeds - but not perennials  Egg boxes
Coffee grounds Woody prunings
Flowers Plant stems
Hedge clippings Woody shavings
Grass cuttings Herbivore animal poop, e.g. rabbits
Fruit peel or leftover raw fruit Crunched egg shells
