Bank holiday collections
Information on upcoming bank holiday collections. Find out

Bulky household items
Contact us to arrange your household item collection.
Place your item kerbside no later than 7am. We can collect up
to five household items on one visit - you must
contact us first. Don't forget most items go to landfill so where
possible pass to charity, friends or family first.

Cartons / clean foil &
empty aerosols
Many of our food items such as milk, juices, soups and some
pet food pouches come in packaging called Tetra Pak. You
can now place rinsed items of this kind in your weekly co-mingled

Kitchen waste
An estimated 6.7 million tonnes of household food waste ends up
rotting in landfill every year. Reduce your food waste and save
money by using the council's Kitchen Waste Scheme. Residents of the
Vale of Glamorgan are entitled to free kitchen waste recycling bags

Garden waste
Your garden waste is presently operating on our ring and
request service until 30/03/12. Your garden waste can be
placed in one of two types of garden
waste bags and will ONLY be collected in these. Either may
be purchased from most Council offices.

Recycling dates
Vale of Glamorgan Council offers a co-mingled recycling service.
Co-mingling means all items can be mixed together in one container

There are two civic amenity/recycling centres in the Vale of
Glamorgan where you can recycle a selection of unwanted items. Both
