Welcome to the
Vale of Glamorgan Council

Recycling boxesbox

As a resident you may have three recycling boxes for free to contain your recycling. Collect yours from the Civic Office, Barry or the Alps Depot in Wenvoe. Open: Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5pm and Friday 8:30pm - 4:30pm.

Remember

We will not collect any recycling put out for collection in black bags as this is how we collect general refuse.

Waste less and recycle more

Most flats have a communal facility. Whether you live in a house, bungalow or apartment, our service allows you to add paper, glass, cans, cardboard, plastic, clean foil, empty aerosols and cartons in the same container. Place items kerbside (or in your communal bin area) by 7am on your waste management day.

What about carrier bags?

You can still use these if they are already used in your waste stream; the Welsh Government has introduced a 5p charge on carrier bags.

New for 2012

Our kerbside boxes are free, or alternatively, you can buy our new blue comingled recycling bags for £1 each.

Thank you

We are delighted with your response to, and enthusiasm for, our recycling service, and hope this will be reflected in the next set of recycling figures released. By 2025, we are striving to attain a 70% recycling rate. We thank you for caring enough about the environment to recycle.
