Garden wasteRecycling garden waste kerbside collection

It's officially the gardening season!

Your garden waste is now collected every other week with your black bag  and must be placed out by 7am along with other items to be recycled. Learn more on composting.

Our 'Ring and request' service

Operates during 'slower' gardening months. Next season runs from 3 December 2012 through to 22 March 2013. However, if we have another hot March, we may bring bag garden waste collection from February 2013. A decision won't be taken until next year when forecasts are available. This website, our call centre and the press will announce any change in decision early in 2013.

Collections

Your garden waste may be placed in one of two types of bag and will only be collected in these. Both reusable and biodegradable bags may be purchased from most Council offices.

What's included in garden waste collection?

Any bags containing items in the 'no thanks' column will not be collected, meaning the bag will be left by crews.
