Why bother?landfillsite

One third

Reportedly kitchen waste equates to around 1/3 of an average householders bin; ideally this should be recycled or of course it's best not to cause this waste in the first place!

What is kitchen waste?

Any left overs from your fridge, fruit bowl or plates once you've cooked a meal. This can mean things like peelings, bones, sauces, but actually most of it is perfectly good food!

Why avoid landfill?

It's all about climate change because the items we send to landfill cause unpleasant things such as methane. This is a greenhouse gas that we need to avoid producing to make sure we leave a lovely planet for your children, your children's children and so on!
