Network management duties
The Council manages its road network efficiently to keep traffic moving, to reduce congestion and prevent unnecessary delays on the road network in accordance with the Traffic Management Act (2004).
These duties include:
Co-ordinating street works and road works
Highway inspection and enforcement
Temporary road closures
Licensing of skips, scaffolding and hoardings
Vehicle crossovers
Carriageway and footway surfacing
Highway insurance claims
Highway weed control
