Highway Projects and Traffic Management
The roles of the Traffic Management and Highway Projects teams
are to:-
design new highway schemes, including new or redesigned
roads.
design new traffic schemes i.e new road layouts, traffic
calming, traffic orders, mini roundabouts, parking schemes etc.
undertake Safety Audits of new schemes to ensure that they are
safe for all road users including pedestrians, cyclists and other
vulnerable users.
collect and analyse traffic data. We have a database of all
personal injury accidents in our county which is supplied by the
police. We also undertake speed surveys and traffic counts to get a
true picture of the traffic movements on our roads.
